New Information

Hey All,
Just wanted to post a short blog about whats new and exciting in my life.  It's a miracle that there's anything new OR exciting since I'm currently unemployed and losing my mind, but in my abundance of free time, I'm trying to get my music back together.

So firstly, I'd like to tell you about an awesome new site called SellaBand that my dear friend Christian Gallant introduced me to.  It's a site that allows musicians to create a profile (god bless the new revoloution of online social networking) where fans can go and help that particular musician receive the FANtastic opportunity of recording a professional album.  Now how do you do that, one might ask... well here's how it works:

On SELLABAND, artists try to raise $50,000 or $100,000, which will entitle them to go to the studio and record a quality album with the aid of music industry professionals.

We're looking for Believers.

That is what we call the music lovers who help finance the artists' SELLABAND album.

With as little as $10.00 you can support an artist and help them on their way to the recording studio. By buying a ‘Part’ for $10.00 you become a ‘Believer’ in an artist and if they make it to the studio, this first Part will make sure you receive a Limited Edition of the album you helped create. At any point before your artist of choice has raised the full $50,000/$100,000, you can either buy more Parts, move your Part(s) to another artist, or get all your money back.

For more information about this awesome project, visit the SellaBand website

Secondly, I'm trying to come up with a list of cover tunes that you (my beloved fans ;)) would like to hear me perform live.  Of course I plan on singing my originals as well, but I'd like to include some great covers by some great artists.  So far, my list of covers include songs by Janis Joplin, Damhnait Doyle, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Taylor Swift, The Wreckers, Amanda Marshall, The Dixie Chicks, The Cranberries and Jann Arden.  My task for you guys, is to help me compile this list.  If you can think of any song that you'd like to hear me cover, any and all suggestions are welcome.  Be forewarned, I ain't doin' Metallica!  ;)  lol.  You can send your suggestions to the email address listed under the contact section of this website.

And, I think that about covers it.   I look forward to your suggestions, and can't wait to get back playing music again! smile  Thanks in advance for all your support, it really means the world to me.

Peace & Love.

Ps.  Stay tuned for upcoming events and performances.

It's been a while...

Hey Y'all!
So I know you must be tired of hearing me say this, butttt... I'm really really bad at this updating thing!  Haha.  It seems like every 6 months or so, I get the urge (and the time) to actually sit down and make a few updates to this site, and then I just drop off the planet for another 6 months!

BUT!  Today, there are updates!  There are THREE new song clips in the music section of this page, as well as the newly introduced Street Team!

I'm very excited about the Street Team (which has yet to be named), because it's a great way for you, my "loyal fans" (lol) to get involved in what I'm doing!  I'll be sending out emails to anyone who joins with instructions as to how to be an effective Street Team member!  So head on over to the Street Team page and join!  It's free, and I don't know about you, but my mom always said to take advantage of anything that's free!

Peace & Love to Y'all!

Until next time!

Hey Y'all!
I know it's been a long long time since I've updated here, but I really have nothing new music-wise to update about.  I've been busy with work and those sort of things, and haven't really been doing a whole lot with my music.  I have, however, written one new song that I will be uploading a snippet of in the near future.  So keep a watch out for that.

What I have been spending a fair bit of time on however, is a very new, very different type of project.  It's something that I'm somewhat shy about so have been really nervous about letting anyone know about it.  I have written a novel and am interested in getting it published.  I'm in the editing stages right now, so it's still very much a work in progress.

I will be posting a small synopsis in the new "Writings" section of my website and perhaps an excerpt or two from the novel so I can get a little feedback from my frequent website visitors.  Any and all comments would be very much appreciated.  Thanks to everyone who still actually visits here.   Keep on rockin' in the free world!

Peace!

It's beginning to look a lot like...

Winter... ugh... I have to tell you, I am NOT a fan of the cold weather.  Cold noses are for puppies, not for me.  Those of you who know me, are well aware that I like being warm.  We had our first real dumping of snow last week, and I think it's here to stay.  It's a tad depressing, so I thought I'd do a few updates here on my website to keep my mind off the icicles forming outside my window.

As you have probably noticed, I've added a video page to the site, where I've uploaded a video of my best friend Michelle Robertson and I performing a cover of The Wreckers' song "Cigarettes".

Michelle and I met at College in Stephenville where we were the Residence Moms!  We both completed the Music Industry & Performance program, as well as the Recording Arts program there, and found out that we were sisters from different mothers, separated at birth!

Michelle is an AMAZING musician and we've been bouncing back and forth on the idea of forming a band together for quite some time now, and enlisting the help of Christian Gallant (another College friend) to manage us.  The only problem is that she is currently living in Winnipeg, and I am here in good ol' Newfoundland.  Sad times... but Michelle is considering moving!  So who knows, perhaps in the sooner rather than later future, you may be hearing of "Elle" in the maritime provinces.

In the meantime, you can head on over to the video page and check out our performance together at the College coffee house.  Let me know what you think, and whether or not you'd buy (or pirate) our music!  Haha!

(*Side note, I'm VERY anti-pirating music, so you best be saving up for when I release a CD)

You can visit Michelle on MySpace HERE and you can visit Christian on MySpace HERE.

Peace & Love to y'all!

New Site, New Song, New Polls...

danielleboone Posted by danielleboone at 09:10 AM on November 17, 2006 Comments comments (0)
Hey Y'all!
Welcome to the new and improved www.daniellemboone.vze.com

As you can see, I've done some renovations to the place and it's pretty snazzy, if I do say so myself!  Incase you haven't noticed all the changes, I'll do a brief overview for you.

I've changed the entire site design to the BEAUTIFUL chocolate brown layout that I love more than life itself, I've created a photo album with NEW pictures of myself (a painful but necessary evil), I've added new online polls for you to enjoy, and as if that weren't enough, all this "newness" has sparked creativity and I've uploaded a brand new song for you guys!  It's called "Lonely Being Alone" and it's a little different from what you're used to hearing from me.  It's a little country, but for some reason I like it.  You can let me know what you think by voting in the Listeners Poll, or by dropping me an email...or BOTH!

If you like what you see and hear here (wow, that's weird to say...hear here) please tell your friends, and tell them to tell their friends, and... well you get the drift!

Thanks to all my loyal "fans"... haha... wait... let's rephrase:  Thanks to all my friends who visit here on a daily basis and make me feel like I actually do have a grain of talent!  I love y'all and your support means the world to me!
*muah*
Peace & Love!

P.S. Be sure to sign my guestbook so I'll know who to thank in the liner notes when I release my first REAL CD! Haha!  Just kidding.  There won't be enough room for everyone.. but that doesn't mean I wont try! *winks*

I wish I were cool!

Hey Y'all.
So, I think its time for me to admit to everyone, that I'm really not cool at all. Some people tell me I'm funny, some people think I'm smart, and I certainly don't believe it!  One thing they definitely cannot call me is "cool".  I laugh at dry jokes such as "What's pink and fluffy?"  "Pink fluff".  Hahahah!  See.  I know none of you laughed at that, but sitting here in my room alone, I actually let out a hearty chuckle!

I've decided that I'd like to keep this blog more up to date than the rest that I have (MSN , MySpace, and LiveJournal) because frankly, this is MY PLACE.  MSN, MySpace and LiveJournal are just networks where everyone hangs out!  Perhaps if I were interesting and cool enough, everyone would hang out here!  Haha, see... another dry joke that no one but me is laughing at.

Anyways, I got on this wave of uncoolness reading another artists' blog today.  The band is named Saving Jane and the music is rockin'!  I totally love it.  The lead singer is hilarious not to mention really frikin' talented!  And she's definitely cool!  I had been reading her blog on MySpace for about an hour and then decided to come here and update mine.

I've been on a dry spell with my music, but I think that re-vamping my website may inspire a little.  So thats what I'm about to do!  smile  I hope everyone is doing well!

Peace & Love!

Hey Y'all,
Well, it's been much too long since I've been here, or even updated for that matter.  I'm currently working on some new material in hopes of putting together a press kit for some publicity!  If there's anything in particular you would like to see here on my site, please send me an email (see Contact Page).  Your feedback is very important to me, and I sincerely need your inspiration to get back into the swing of things again!
Thanks to all my old faithfuls for checkin' back every so often... you know who you are!  Your love and support mean the world to me!

I hugged a strange woman...

danielleboone Posted by danielleboone at 05:27 PM on November 25, 2005 Comments comments (1)

Hey there,

Well last night, Patrick and I had a gig at the College of the North Atlantic here in St. John's.  It went really well.  We performed a bunch of my originals and some covers, for about an hour and a half.  So afterwards, a lady came up to us and said "You guys were fabulous, and you have such a lovely voice.  You sound just like Damhnait Doyle."  My jaw dropped and I said "I LOVE YOU" and hugged the woman.  The poor lady must have thought I was off my rocker, but I explained that Damhnait was my biggest inspiration and hoped she understood my erratic behavior!  Haha.  Another man told me I sounded like I had a lot of Norah Jones influence in my music... I don't really think so, but hey, I'll take it!  So it was a lot of fun!

I really want to be doing more performing.  I really miss it.  But anyways, that's about all for now.  If anyone knows anyone looking to join a band, tell them to email me!  (See "contact" page)

Peace & Love

First Entry

danielleboone Posted by danielleboone at 12:22 PM on October 28, 2005 Comments comments (0)

Last night I went to Damhnait Doyle's Book Release at The Ship Inn.  All I have to say is "WOW".  That woman never ceases to amaze me.  She is such a phenomenal woman; not only is she incredibly talented but just so damn real.  She inspires me to pursue my music dreams.  She makes me so proud to be a Newfoundlander!

Patrick and I have begun our band mate search.  We've had a few people contact us that were interested so hopefully things will work out.  I'm really excited to get a band together.  The search for a band name continues though.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Peace & Love.
